Join us for a Grand Teton Photography Workshop in one of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in North America. During this small-group photography tour, we’ll photograph iconic locations like Schwabacher Landing and Oxbow Bend while searching for wildlife such as moose, elk, bison, fox, and bears in Grand Teton National Park.  Perfect for photographers of all skill levels who want to improve their wildlife and landscape photography while experiencing the dramatic light and scenery of the Tetons.

Why Photograph Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park offers some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in North America. The Teton Range rises sharply from the valley floor, creating incredible opportunities for sunrise landscapes, reflections, and wildlife photography. During this workshop, we focus on photographing the park’s most iconic locations while taking advantage of changing light and wildlife activity throughout the day.

During this Grand Teton photography workshop, we’ll focus on:

• Sunrise reflections at Schwabacher Landing
• Oxbow Bend and Mount Moran reflections
• Historic barns at Mormon Row
• Wildlife such as moose, bison, elk, fox, and bears
• Scenic overlooks along the Snake River

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY OPPORTUNITIES

Grand Teton National Park is one of the best places in the American West for wildlife photography. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, the park supports a healthy population of large mammals and birds that offer excellent photography opportunities.

Species commonly photographed during the workshop include:

  •  Moose
  •  Elk
  •  Bison
  •  Fox and coyotes
  •  Black bears and grizzly bears
  •  Bald eagles and other birds of prey

We always photograph wildlife from safe distances while respecting the animals and park regulations.

 

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This workshop includes hands-on instruction in the field to help you improve both your technical skills and creative vision.

Topics we commonly cover include:

  •  Camera settings for wildlife and landscape photography
  •  Composition techniques for mountain landscapes
  •  Working with long telephoto lenses

 

  •  Capturing wildlife behavior and action
  •  Exposure control in changing light
  •  Planning and photographing sunrise and sunset scenes

 

ICONIC PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATIONS

During the workshop, we photograph a variety of classic Grand Teton locations known for dramatic scenery and beautiful light.

Locations may include:

  •  Schwabacher Landing – classic sunrise reflections of the Tetons
  •  Oxbow Bend – Mount Moran reflections and wildlife habitat
  •  Mormon Row – historic barns with the Tetons as a backdrop
  •  Snake River Overlook – the famous Ansel Adams viewpoint
  •  Willow Flats and Antelope Flats – prime wildlife habitat

Locations may vary depending on weather, light, and wildlife activity.
