Grand Teton Photography Workshop FAQ

This workshop is suitable for photographers of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner learning camera settings or an experienced photographer looking to capture iconic Grand Teton landscapes and wildlife, personalized guidance will be provided throughout the trip.

A DSLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses is recommended. Telephoto lenses (such as 100–400mm, 200–500mm, or longer) are ideal for wildlife photography, while wide-angle lenses work well for landscapes and sunrise scenes in Grand Teton National Park.

Grand Teton National Park is home to moose, elk, bison, fox, coyotes, bears, and a variety of birds of prey. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, we will always take advantage of wildlife photography opportunities when they occur.

Most photography locations in Grand Teton National Park require only short walks from parking areas. This workshop is designed to be accessible to most photographers, although participants should be comfortable standing and walking short distances with their camera gear.

The Tetons offer incredible photography opportunities throughout the year. Workshops are scheduled during seasons that provide the best combination of dramatic light, active wildlife, and beautiful landscapes.

Yes. The schedule is built around the best light of the day, including sunrise and sunset photography sessions at iconic locations such as Schwabacher Landing and Oxbow Bend.

Workshops are intentionally kept small to allow for personalized instruction and a better photography experience. Small group sizes also allow greater flexibility when photographing wildlife and changing light conditions.
